Risk Culture Builder and Business Risk Officer Capricorn Investment Group

Horst has been in commercial banking and the risk management consultancy and training industry for almost four decades. After a career of 25 years in Southern Africa with the Standard Bank Group of South-Africa Ltd and Barclays Bank plc, he started his work in the Middle East in 2005. At Emirates NBD Group, he was tasked with building an Operational Risk Management function for the Group, and in Mashreq Bank, he pioneered the concept of Risk Technology Management. Most recently, he was a full-time Trainer with Moody's Analytics and a Partner at Strong Advice, a UAE- based Management Consultancy firm. After living in South Africa, Lesotho and the United Arab Emirates for the past 32 years, he returned to Namibia to join Capricorn Group where he is leading the Group Risk Function's initiative to build an effective Risk Culture.
